MARSHALL CARDIOLOGY

CARRYING ON THE LEGACY OF
EXCELLENT PATIENT CARE
CORONA VIRUS UPDATE
To our valued patients,

As medical appointments are exempt from the Governor's recent stay-at-home orders, we will remain open and available to support patients who may need our services.
While you are still able to attend medical appointments, we just want to reach out to you and keep you updated on how we are handling these unknown times. In regards to the spread of COVID-19 throughout our community, and the governor's recent stay-at-home orders, we want to assure you that we are doing our part to keep you healthy and safe.
We have made the following changes to our day-to-day schedules to ensure we are taking the precautions necessary to keep you safe.

Scheduling appointments and telephone appointments:
        1. We have the ability to conduct a "virtual visit". We encourage all patients to sign up for virtual visits or tele -medicine as per AMA guidelines to help maintain social distancing; any one needing to be seen in person can still be seen in the office with an appointment based on merit.
     2. All patients entering the office will have their temperature checked and will be asked about any recent illness, international travel or interaction with anyone exposed to COVID-19. All visitors will be required to wash their hands on entering the office.
        3. We are asking you to reschedule your appointment at this time if:
           a. You have experienced an illness in the past 2 weeks
           b. You currently have a fever above 99.7
           c. You have been exposed to anyone with a known COVID-19 infection
           d. You have traveled internationally/nationally within the past 2 weeks
        4. All non-emergent procedures and surgeries have been canceled until further notice.
       5. Anyone accompanying a patient to their appointment will be asked to wait outside or in their car to help minimize interaction among individuals.
           a. If patient is elderly or requires assistance, one person may accompany patient to their appointment.
         6. We are happy to accommodate any patients who wish to wait outside or in their car until their appointment time. While patient care is our number one priority, the health and well-being of our patients, staff and community are of utmost importance. The following can be done frequently throughout the day to help keep yourself and those around you safe:
  • Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60 percent alcohol if soap and water are not available.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

I have been a nurse practitioner at Marshall Cardiology since 2015. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona in 2000 and worked as a cardiac nurse at TMC for 15 years. Once my kids were all in school, I enrolled at Grand Canyon University to pursue my graduate degree. Luckily I was able to stay in cardiology upon graduation and cannot imagine doing anything else. I absolutely love my job, partnering with patients to improve their health and quality of life. Outside of work, I spend as much time as possible with my husband and kids. We love to be outdoors, hiking, traveling, and finding new adventures. I am also active in our church and would eventually like to pursue medical missions. I am thankful for the relationships I have developed with patients at Marshall Cardiology. I feel privileged to be a member of our patients’ care team and a small part their lives.
